Jewish Museum Munich - The Jewish Museum Munich looks back on a long, colorful history of the Jewish population in Germany and in Prehistory; Its collection is not a systematic one, governed instead by the fragmentary nature of its Jewish history holdings and by a chance assembly of objects; Tuesday-Sunday: 10 am - 6 pm.

• City Art Gallery in the Lenbachhaus - The museum hold the largest archive concerning the life and work of Alfred Kubin (1877-1959), including numerous works on paper, illustrated books, documents and correspondence with fellow artists; There is also a vast collection of works on paper from the 19th century to the present day; Main focus: “Der Blaue Reiter”, international contemporary art, Munich painters; Tue – Sun, 10 am – 6 pm. Bavarian National Museum - The main collection from this world famous museum is on artifacts from the South of Germany and in particular Bavaria; a complete look at bavarian history with collections as diverse as Musical instruments, sculptures, porcelain and of course paintings and literature; Tuesday to Sunday 10 to 5, Thursday 10 to 8.

Historic monuments in Munich

• Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site - An incredible and sobering experience of this well preserved WWII concentration camp, but it is not recommended for small children.  
• Statue of the Bavaria - nearly 20 m high statue, standing on the west border of Theriesienwiese next to the Hall of Fame.  
• Glyptothek - Antique Grecian sculpture collection housed in an impressive classical Greek building.  
• Schloss Nymphenburg - A Baroque palace that was the summer residence of the rulers of Bavaria.  
• Residenz - Built in 1385, originally a small moated castle, and was gradually expanded by the Wittelsbach rulers who used it until 1918 as their residence and seat of government.

• City Centre: Maximilianstraße, Theatinerstraße and Fünf Höfe, Kaufinger Straße, etc. Glockenbachviertel - the area between Viktualienmarkt and Gärtnerplatztheater. Olympia shopping area. Shopping area in Perlach. Riem Shopping centre.
