All the Charms of Bavaria
Whether you're travelling on business or vacation, each trip to Munich will unveil a little more of what the city has to offer. The Nymphenburg Palace, former summer residence of the kings of Bavaria, is a particular treasure, both for its rooms and for its green spaces. The palace's Botanical Gardens contain more than 14,000 species of plants, as well as enchanting hidden mansions. The Residence, with its long held secrets, is the largest urban palace in the world, while its Treasure Chamber boasts one of the world's greatest art collections.
The Kunstareal, the Art District located in Munich City Centre, brings together seven fantastic museums. Amongst the most notable are the Old Art Gallery, the New Art Gallery and the Gallery of Modern Art. Between them, they provide a banquet for all the senses.
If you prefer a more active time, sports play an important role in Munich. The Olympiazentrum (Olympic Centre) and the new Olympic Stadium, Alliance Arena, are at the heart of German football. Munich is also the point of departure for excursions to the ski resorts of the neighbouring Alps. However, before you leave, remember that no trip to Munich would be complete without a visit to one of its pubs, of which the most famous is the Hofbräuhaus, established in 1591. Munich in Celebration
Munich loves its festivals and knows how to celebrate them in style. Oktoberfest is without a doubt the most popular one, with over six million visitors each year, but equally prominent is the Munich Opera Festival, a must see for classical music lovers.
NH's hotels in Munich provide you with easy, direct access to the city's main attractions, train stations, fairgrounds and the Munich Airport.
