• Palazzo Dugnani - It contains many wonderful features, such as a magnificent staircase, gallery for musicians, frescoes painted by the great Giambattista Tiepolo and also the Museo del Cinema; Tue - Friday 3 to 6.  
• Civico Museo Archeologico - Exhibits include displays of Bronze Age artifacts and also the world's oldest wooden plough still in existence, dating back around 4,000 years; Tuesday and Friday to Sunday - 15:00 to 19:00.  
• Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnia 'Leonardo da Vinci' - It boasts one of the world's leading science and technology collections; The museum has a huge number of exhibits in four different buildings; Highlights include the first mechanical counting machine - which was invented in 1642, state-of-the-art computers and displays about astronomy, acoustics, trains, air and sea travel and cinema photography; Tuesday to Friday - 09:30 to 16:50, Saturday - 09:30 to 18:20.  
• Museo Poldi-Pezzoli - Inside the museum are many exhibits, including Pezzoli's fine collection of sculptures, paintings - many by notable artists, watches, jewellery, glass, textiles and ancient armour; Tuesday to Sunday - 10:00 to 18:00.  
• Museo del Duomo - It houses many interesting objects from the Duomo, such as paintings, sculptures, stained glass windows, restoration information and many religious objects of importance.  
• Museo di Storia Naturale - This large and important building now holds many interesting exhibits and collections, including reconstructions of dinosaurs, skeletons, insects, mammals, reptiles, scientific instruments and a specialist library with over 30,000 books; Monday to Friday - 09:00 to 18:00, Saturday to Sunday - 09:30 to 18:30.  
• Museo di Storia Contemporanea - The City Museum of Contemporary History houses several museums with a large amount of interesting Milan memorabilia, historic documents and paintings of the city.

• Navigli - The origins of the Navigli date back to about 1100, one of the most charming places. Brera, most exclusive and fashionable places in Milano described as “luxury Bohemian”. Parco Sempione is the ideal place to spend a Sunday afternoon in the fresh air. Piazza Mercanti represent Milanese culture from the middle ages to the seventeenth century. Galleria Vittorio Emanuele is called the “salotto di Milano” (The Milano Lounge). 

Historic monuments in Milan

• The Duomo - A massive late Gothic church (built in 1386) in white marble, with hundreds of spires and thousands of statues on its exterior and a famous façade.  
• Saint Mary of the Graces - Houses the famous Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci.  
• Saint Ambrose - A beautiful and huge Byzantic/Romanic church which was almost destroyed by allied bombing in World War 2, although some of its Byzantic mosaics are well preserved.  
• Saint Maurice -A stunning fully frescoed Renaissance church and most of the paintings inside are the work of Bernardino Luini.  
• The Castello Sforzesco - Where the Sforza-Visconti ruling families of Milan resided.  
• La Scala Theatre - One of the most renowned opera houses in the world, first opened in 1778 and re-opened in 2004 after extensive renovation.  
• Cimitero Monumentale - Milan's old cemetery in Neoclassical style, filled with lavish sculptures and monuments.  
• La Rotonda della Besana - An 18th Century Neoclassical complex which is now an exhibition space. 
• Chiaravalle Abbey - A beautifully-preserved medieval abbey which is still run by monks today

• 1_Milano - Pavia: The old city centre can easily be covered on foot: walking along the streets and squares, you can see the architectural sights from centuries and centuries of history. From the Roman Era to the Middle Ages, from the Visconti and Sforza eras to the Renaissance, from Neoclassicism to Liberty style. We recommend you end your trip by visiting the wonderful Certosa di Pavia which was built around 1396 upon the wishes of Gian Galeazzo Visconti, Duke of Milano.
• 2_Milano - Vigevano: This is a tiny architectural jewel that owes a lot to the brilliant creativity of Bramante. It is worth a day’s visit. There are many things to see, including Castello Visconteo-Sforzesco, one of the largest castles in Europe. This is a true city within a city, with very ancient origins: the original centre of the Castle dates back as far as the Lombard Era, and was renovated to become an aristocratic residence by the Visconti family and then by the Sforza family.
• 3_Milano - Como: Lake Como is surrounded by both high mountains and gentle hills. The territory has always been an area of intense activity, being a crossing point between Central Europe and the Mediterranean.

• 1_La Scala Theatre Museum: Founded in 1913, this interesting museum exhibits various costumes and theatre sets that are of great historical and artistic value. Some rooms are dedicated to the La Scala Theatre’s architecture and the life of the famous composer Giuseppe Verdi, while others house ancient musical instruments, curtains and costumes that belonged to famous artists such as Maria Callas and Rudolf Nureyev.
• 2_Pinacoteca di Brera: The Pinacoteca di Brera is an art gallery set up in 1809 by Napoleone Bonaparte. It houses a great number of works of art that were “confiscated” from churches and convents throughout Europe.
• 3_The Museum of Ancient Art: This interesting museum is housed in the splendid Castello Sforzesco, and is home to some of the most important sculptures that help to understand Lombard history and culture. The works come from a period ranging from the 4th to the 16th century. They include the funeral monument for Gaston di Foix and the “Pietà Rondinini” by Michelangelo.
• 4_Como/Lecco: The provinces offer opportunities for every kind of sport, in particular the outdoor ones, such as windsurfing, canoeing and water-skiing.
