• Tulum: The site of a Pre-Columbian Maya walled city, located on 12-meter high cliffs, along the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula it is one of the best-preserved coastal Maya sites  
• Palenque: A slightly smaller city than some of the others but has incredible mayan architecture and history, most famous ruler of Palenque is Pacal the Great whose tomb was found and excavated in the temple of inscriptions  
• Chichen Itza: One of the largest collections of mayan ruins found anywhere in central america, with a number of pyramids, temples and tombs to explore, however you are not allowed to climb up the incredible pyramid of the sun

The site reveals much of the fascinating history of the Mayans, such as the Centre of Sacrifices; the immense Ball Game; A Mayan astronomic observatory; the building of the Nuns, a great pyramid with a crack that shows its different stages of construction and, in the middle of a broad plaza, the majestic Castle or pyramid of Kukulcan. 5_Coba - Cenote Azul. The city is composed of various Mayan communities. From Nohoch Mul, the tallest pyramid on the north of the peninsula 42 metres high (46 yards), the view over the jungle that extends to infinity is unbeatable.
