• Amparo Museum - Monoliths, masks, god figures, and diverse tools of Zapoteca, Totonaca, Maya and Olmeca origins, amongst other pre-Hispanic Cultures, are exhibited in its rooms.  
• The Alfeñique House - Several codices, blue prints, and photographs that constitute part of Puebla's historic and documentary memory, stand out amongst its cultural treasures.  
• Museum of Colonial Art - It treasures a collection of religious canvases of colonial origins that, due to its vastness and importance, is one of the most complete in Mexico, but that is not all; its rooms also meddle with the past to show visitors a series of curious and interesting objects related to medical science.

Historic monuments in Puebla

• Cathedral - Built between 1575 and 1640, it has two of the tallest church towers in Mexico.  
• Palafoxian Library - A library built in the 18th century which contains a unique collection of literature as well as artwork.  
• Zocalo - the historic downtown area of the city, exhibits unique architecture and is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  
• Los Fuertos- The 2 forts which sit atop the Cerro de Guadalupe, is the site of the successful defence of the city in the battle of Puebla in 1862.  
• Cuaxcomate - Situated just outside of Puebla this is the smallest volcano in the world, although it is now extinct.

Day trip

• 1_Cacaxtla: Near Cacaxtla is the recent discovery of Xochitecatl. Opened to the public in 1994, this hilltop site has a unique spiral-shaped pyramid. It’s an easy climb and one you wouldn’t want to miss since the site’s most unforgettable feature is at the top: a spectacular 360° view of the surrounding highland plateau.
• 2_Cholula: About 8 km west of Puebla lies Cholula. Once known as a city of churches - a popular but apocryphal story gives it 365 churches, one for each day of the year - it is now famed as having been a significant religious site through more than two thousand years of occupation. Predating Teotihuacan by perhaps 400 years, it was still an active spiritual centre at the time of the conquest in 1521. Cholula has the world’s largest pyramid, covering 46 acres.
• 3_Church’s and Chapels: 16 km away from Puebla is Acatepec Town, where one of the masterpieces of Mexican baroque art was built in the seventeenth century, San Francisco Church. Ten minutes away is the Santa María Tonatzintla Church where the hands of the natives modeled the gypsum captured their own universe. In the same town is the Royal Chapel which has 49 cupolas and 7 naves. This chapel was the first place to evangelize the local people, who gathered in its open-air portico.

• 1_African Safari Zoo: The creation of an incredible surprising work, made by a an exceptional man: Captain Carlos Camacho. In the beginning the project only had the interest of being a deprived collection, but now the public have the oppurtunity to admire a great variety of wild animals moving and coexisting as if they were in their natural habitat.
• 2_Sightseeing: Beautifully housed in a lovely colonial building at Calle 2 Sur 708, almost three blocks from the main square, is Puebla’s most spectacular museum (streets running north to south are calles, those running east to west, avenidas). Not to be missed, the Amparo Museum showcases an extraordinary collection of pre-Hispanic and colonial-era art, as well as some contemporary works.
• 3_Valsequillo Lake: Is located 15 km from Puebla City by the state highway to Valsequillo in the State of Puebla, Mexico. The Valsequillo Lake is situated half a kilometre from the zoo, where you can try out water-skiing and fishing. It is also an ideal place for picnics.
• 4_”La Calle de los Dulces”: Don’t miss a stroll along Calle 6 Oriente, “La Calle de los Dulces,” which is flanked on both sides by shops selling a mind-boggling array of regional candies with names like “sighs of a nun,” “almond dolls” and “little drunk ones.”
