Day trip

• 1_Sinaia: Sinaia is a city in the Romanian district of Prahova and is a perfect place for a day trip. It is easily reached from the capital. Sinaia is one of the oldest recreational areas in Romania. Ski accommodations are good: there is a cablelift that brings you up to 2,000 metres. Sinaia is surrounded by a splendid panorama.
• 2_Danube Delta: The waters of the Danube, which flow into the Black Sea from the largest and best preserved Deltas of Europe. The Danube delta hosts over 300 species of birds as well as 45 freshwater fish species in its numerous lakes and marshes.
• 3_Brasov: One of Europe’s best-preserved medieval towns and is situated in the central part of the country being considered the second best town in Romania.
• 4_Bran (Dracula) Castle: Bran is an important tourism destination. Dracula’s Castle, Romania’s most famous tourist sight is the main attraction in Bran.
• 5_Snagov Lake and Snagov Monastery: This half day/full day trip offers you the possibility to combine a short sightseeing tour of Bucharest with the surrounding beautiful landscape offered by Snagov Lake and forest embroidered with monasteries and palaces.

• 2_Herastrau Park: Apart from Bucharest’s museums, one can see numerous café-troitoirs and green parks with lakes. In Herastrau Park, the twodeck boats, or a boat for two, take you for a tour of this wonderful, old and big park. It is a refreshing trip and gives you another sight and view of the park and Bucharest.
• 3_Palatul Parlamentului: Ceausescu’s greatest folly took 20,000 workers, 7,000 architects and 16 billion Lei to build. The result is a monolith rising 84m (276ft) high and the second-largest building in the world (after the Pentagon). It was intended to house Communist Party offices, ministries and Ceausescu’s state rooms, but at the time of Ceausescu’s death, only the outside part and three rooms had been completed. It is now the seat of Romania’s Parliament and headquarters of the International Conference Centre.
