Whale Museum – Discover one of the most important collections of Cetaceans in Europe, fruit of more than 20 years of research on whale and dolphins in the Canaries. Visitors are immersed in the ocean environment to learn the characteristics and lifestyle of these wonderful creatures through images, sounds, life-size replicas, models, skeletons and biological material. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm. Closed: Sunday and Monday. General Admission – 8 euros, Concessions – 5 Euros. Children 0-6 years – free.
Lagomar Museum – Visit the magical gardens, tunnels and caves that lead to the lake and home of the legendary Omar Sharif. The cultural and tourist centre of Lanzarote opens a new space dedicated to the artist, his legend and the progress of this site to what it has become today: a cultural and artistic meeting point.
Casa Mayor Guerra – Old restored house where you can learn the history of San Bartolomé through projection panels and video exhibition explaining the permanent exhibition located in the exhibition hall of the museum. Admission is 6 euros for non-residents and 3 euros for residents. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

San Gines – festival in August to honour the patron Saint of Lanzarote.
Feast of the Virgen Del Carmen – festival celebrated in the communities of Teguise and Tias. An effigy of the Virgin is carried through the streets - July.
Carnival – huge party celebrated in the last week of February, enormous parades of people in fancy dress march through the streets of Arrecife.
Corpus Christi – Islanders decorate the fronts of churches with carpets of flowers, however due to the lack of rain and therefore flowers on the island it has become more common to use coloured salt, equally attractive.

El Golfo – visit the Green Lake surrounded by a natural amphitheatre open to the sea, near the village of El Golfo.
Mirador del Rio – viewpoint situated 479 metres above sea level, provides stunning views over the “Rio Strait” towards the La Graciosa island.
Monumento al Campesino – made from 15 water tanks from old fishing boats, this monument and museum was built as a tribute to local farmers and their way of life.
