Day trip

• 1_Alkmaar cheese market and windmills: In 750 year old Alkmaar you will learn about a time-honoured Dutch tradition: taste-testing and weighing of cheese. Four teams from the Cheese Carriers Guild compete for the fastest, faultless timing while handling tons of tender produce. On the beautiful scenic way back we will take you to the windmills of Schermerhorn, used in former days to create reclaimed land.
• 2_Delft Blue, The Hague and Madurodam: The first stop will be at a Delft Blue pottery in Delft, a well preserved old Dutch town. We then proceed to The Hague, the seat of the Dutch Government, for a sightseeing tour of the city centre and to miniature town Madurodam, where you will have time to discover all of Holland on small scale. We return to Rotterdam via Scheveningen with its spacious promenades and silvery beaches, that attract many sun lovers.
• 3_Excursion Grand Holland: Our first stop is at Aalsmeer, centre of horticulture, where we visit the flower auction (closed on Sunday and replaced by a visit to a wooden shoe maker). We then proceed to Delft, to visit will a famous Delft Blue pottery. We then drive to The Hague for a city sight seeing tour. We finish the day with a visit of the miniature town of Madurodam, where all of the Netherlands is laid out on a scale of 1/25th. (Lunch en route not included).
• 4_Volendam and Marken: Interesting excursion to Volendam, an old picturesque fishing village on the shore of the former Zuiderzee, and to Marken, which is joined to the mainland by a dike. The local residents of both villages still wear the traditional costume. On the way back we visit a cheese farm and we return through the typical Dutch scenery via Monnickendam, one of the dead cities of the Zuiderzee.
• 5_Windmills and Edam: This trip is to “De Zaanse Schans” a small 40 house community just to the north of Amsterdam on the banks of the river Zaan. There used to be 700 windmills here at the turn of the 18th century. Nowadays there are only 5 left. The houses are made of green timber, have steep roofs and white windows. A visit will be paid to a windmill and a wooden shoe factory. Before returning to Rotterdam through typical Dutch scenery, we visit the medieval town of Edam.

Group activities

• 1_GPS City hunting: The GPS shows you the direction but not the exact route. The participants find their way from pleasant bars to the harbour. Every team has a different route and solves a piece of the puzzle. The participants need to be creative and to communicate well to find their way to the final meeting point.
• 2_Alcatraz: Alcatraz is a unique, one-of-a-kind theatre show in Rotterdam. You will have a tour through the world’s most famous jail: Alcatraz. Before you know it, you will be taken prisoner yourself and be in the same room as Al Capone, Machinegun Kelly and The Birdman. Alcatraz is a mix of theatre, singing and dancing and guarantees you a fun night out!
• 3_Golf Clinic: A golf clinic or a first golf lesson is the ideal way to become acquainted with golf. Accompanied by a professional you will be taught the basic principles during a clinic of 2 to 3.5 hours.
