Day trip

• 1_Alkmaar cheese market and windmills: In 750 year old Alkmaar you will learn about a time-honoured Dutch tradition: taste-testing and weighing of cheese. Four teams from the Cheese Carriers Guild compete for the fastest, faultless timing while handling tons of tender produce. On the beautiful scenic way back we will take you to the windmills of Schermerhorn, used in former days to create reclaimed land.
• 2_Excursion Grand Holland: The first stop is at Aalsmeer, centre of horticulture, where we visit the flower auction (closed on Sunday and replaced by a visit to a wooden shoe maker). We then proceed to Delft, to visit a famous Delft Blue pottery. We then drive to Rotterdam and later The Hague for a city sightseeing tour. We conclude the day with a visit to the miniature town of Madurodam, where the whole of the Netherlands is on display at a scale of 1/25th. (Lunch en route is not included).
• 3_Volendam and Marken: Interesting excursion to Volendam, an old picturesque fishing village on the shore of the former Zuiderzee and to Marken, both connected to the mainland by a dike. The local residents of both villages still wear traditional costume. On the way out we visit a cheese farm and we return through the typical Dutch scenery via Monnickendam, one of the dead cities of the Zuiderzee.
• 4_Windmills and Edam: This excursion is to “De Zaanse Schans”, a small 40 house community just to the north of Amsterdam on the banks of the river Zaan. There used to be 700 windmills here at the turn of the 18th century. Nowadays there are only 5 left. The houses are made of green timber, have steep roofs and white windows. A visit will be paid to a windmill and a wooden shoe factory. Before returning to The Hague through typical Dutch scenery, we visit the medieval town of Edam.

• 1_Murder dinner: You are in the year 1880. The sky is dark above the castle of Count Constantijn Beiersbergen. In spite of the mysterious surroundings and the dark sky you will feel like partying as it promises to be a fun evening!
• 2_Dinner show: Journey Around the World: A Journey Around the World is a spectacular music show for a broad public. A host will take you around the world from Brazil to Greece and from Austria to New York!
• 3_Fun City Tram Tour: You will visit The Hague and Delft by tram. A beautiful tour with, amongst others, a visit to the “de Nieuwe Kerk” in Delft and the Parliament in The Hague accompanied by a specialist tour guide.
• 4_Sailing tour with Lady Fortune: This sailing boat dates from 1885 and is fully equipped for you to enjoy a day on Holland’s waters! You can either actively sail yourself or just sit back, relax and enjoy the water and nature.
• 5_Skiing or Snowboarding at Snowworld Zoetermeer: Skiing, Snowboarding and Airboarding at one of The Netherlands biggest indoor ski slopes.
