If you feel like going to a good play or a musical in NYC, the place to go in the city is Broadway and Times Square. The so-called Broadway Circuit hosts a total of 40 theaters. Two of them are located along one of the most famous avenues in Manhattan, while the rest are in nearby streets. There are also Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway circuits, with less prestige but with equally interesting shows.
There’s a new fashionable area in the city that specializes in a broad and varied selection of restaurants, bars and clubs with different environments. This law prohibited the consumption and sale of alcohol, and these establishments managed to bypass the law and go unnoticed disguised as other types of places, such as barber shops or hot dog stores. Even today it’s hard to find the most authentic ones, which have become exclusive cocktail bars. These include the Bathtub Gin (specialists in gin with burlesque shows), or Apothéke (located in Chinatown, a drugstore-like restaurant where you can enjoy cocktails and jazz).
